At my kindergarten orientation, the teacher asked what we dreamed of becoming when we grew up, and without hesitation, I proudly said, “a doctor that takes out babies!” The room erupted in laughter—but that early spark of passion never faded. I’ve always been fascinated by the miracle of birth and deeply drawn to supporting women through one of the most transformative experiences of their lives.

In 2019, when our daughter, Irene Marigold Slonaker, was born, I experienced firsthand how vital strong support is during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery. Living eight hours from family with a hardworking husband running his farm, I leaned heavily on my doula—who truly changed my journey into motherhood. Her presence inspired me to dedicate my life to doing the same for others.

I’ve learned that birth doesn’t always go as planned, but with the right team—one that is respectful, compassionate, and empowering—every birth can be a beautiful, life-affirming experience. My goal as a certified birth doula and student midwife is to help families welcome their babies with peace, confidence, and love.

Since 2020, I’ve been honored to walk beside many women and families as a birth doula, birth assistant, and midwifery student, offering gentle birth support, postpartum care, and education that honors each family’s unique journey.

Based in Gerrardstown, West Virginia, I proudly serve the Tri-State area, including West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania—providing holistic, family-centered care rooted in kindness, calm, and connection.
