Monitrice Services
What is a monitrice?
A monitrice is an experienced labor support who offers a blend of skills commonly associated with doulas and midwives. As your monitrice, I offer the unwavering support of a doula plus the clinical skills required to monitor labor progress, assess fetal and maternal wellbeing, and help you decide when it is time to call on your primary provider. When you enter the care of your primary provider, I will shift into the role of your doula. Anyone can use a monitrice, but I feel the services of a monitrice are most beneficial for those hoping for a VBAC, those who are concerned about going to the hospital too early, or even those who are concerned about not making it to the hospital in time.
